Defence contractors are renewing efforts to expand their non-military businesses as they search for strategies to cope with declining defence budgets worldwide.
Last month, General Dynamics, the fourth-biggest US defence contractor by government revenues, agreed to buy Vangent — which provides healthcare information technology services to the Department of Health and other agencies — for about $960m in cash.
